Prototype

During the prototype phase, learning designers create the course’s initial version (including anything from wireframes to the actual full course), building on the research conducted in earlier stages, the chosen solution type, and the proposed learning strategies and technologies. This version can be then be tested and iterated upon as needed to meet the goals and objectives as well as the learner challenge.

Learning Management System

The Learning Management System (LMS) serves as the platform for hosting the course, providing users with easy access to content and information about their overall training. It allows users to track their progress, view required and completed courses, and review learning statistics to evaluate their learning experience. The LMS selected for this project was TalentLMS (see screenshot examples below).

Course Creation Tool

The course creation tool is the software used to develop the course content, which is later hosted in the LMS. For this project, Articulate Rise was chosen as the creation tool due to its strong support for micro-learning, including dedicated templates designed for this purpose. Lessons consist of brief individual slides to help break up content with fluid navigation (see screenshot examples below).

Course Features

The e-learning module incorporates several features to enhance the learning experience, including diverse media formats, programmed Excel sheets, and AI tools.

The course has numerous captioned videos that complement text sections, providing overviews of key concepts and lesson objectives. (click the example below).

To help provide a more visual representation of government regulations, Excel sheets were programmed to give a glimpse of the math that happens on the backend of default reviews (click the example below).

To help immediately apply what has been learned and serve as performance support, an AI chatbot was included. This tool can be reached by clicking a link in the course, which has been fine-tuned with the FHA regulations. It is programmed to help learners by answering questions and generating a seemingly infinite amount of questions and practice scenarios.
